This ruling is a vindication for all citizens who believe, as I do, that the Second Amendment is a fundamental right protected by our Constitution.
“The Supreme Court in McDonald v. City of Chicago has ruled that the Second Amendment provides an individual freedom for all law abiding Americans, and I applaud that decision,” stated Bill Hudak, Candidate for the U.S. Congress. “It is a vindication for all citizens who believe, as I do, that the Second Amendment is a fundamental right protected by our Constitution."

“History was made by this landmark decision,” said Hudak, a lawyer who believes that those in government and elsewhere who trust the people should have no problem with this ruling. “It is a clear interpretation of the writing and wishes of our Founders, and their words continue to serve us well,” said Hudak.

As Justice Samuel Alito wrote for the Court, “The right to bear arms is fully binding on the states and thus limits (but by no means eliminates) their ability to devise solutions to social problems that suit local needs and values.” This follows on the heels of the Heller decision two years ago, and makes clear that neither the Congress nor the individual states may act to deprive citizens of a fundamental right to protect themselves.

“This is indeed a victory for liberty,” concluded Hudak.
