Lawsuit Filed Against Hulcher Services, Inc. for Rail Yard Amputation Accident

The Law Offices of Jeffrey J. Kroll today filed suit against Hulcher Services, Inc., alleges a slippery crane surface as cause of accident which lead to the eventual amputation of worker's toes

Chicago (PRWEB) March 11, 2010 - The Law Offices of Jeffrey J. Kroll filed suit today against Hulcher Services, Inc., a railroad services provider, alleging negligence in a December 2008 rail yard incident that caused plaintiff Michael Haddix to lose all five toes on his left foot. Kroll alleges that the company chose unsuitable equipment to uncouple the rail cars and failed to properly support it, especially in rainy conditions.

"Michael is a 16-year veteran of working with rail cars and railways, and hasn't worked in the rail yard since his injury in 2008, which we believe reasonably could have been prevented," said Kroll, principal of the Law Offices of Jeffrey J. Kroll (www.kroll-lawfirm.com). "This moment of apparent carelessness in the rail yard has led to lifetime of misery for Michael." Kroll has represented individuals in the past who have been victims of injuries stemming from accidents with cranes and railways.

When the coupling between two rail cars became jammed and the cars locked together on December 19, 2008 in a Bedford Park rail yard, Hulcher Services brought in a hi-rail crane to uncouple the cars. Kroll alleges the crane was improperly supported for the rainy conditions, and therefore caused it to shift, inflicting crushing injuries to Haddix. Kroll is seeking damages in excess of $50,000.
