Outten & Golden LLP announced that Samuel R. Miller, former Legal Director of the Center for Constitutional Rights, has joined the firm as Of Counsel, bringing over 20 years of experience in civil rights, employment discrimination, and class action litigation. Mr. Miller joins Outten & Golden's class action and impact litigation practice, which prosecutes cases involving a wide range of systemic workers' rights issues.

Miller has joined the firm as Of Counsel, bringing over 20 years of experience in civil rights, employment discrimination and harassment, and nation-wide class action litigation.
Mr. Miller joins Outten & Golden's class action and impact litigation practice, which prosecutes cases involving a wide range of employment issues, including economic exploitation, gender- and race-based discrimination, and other systemic workers' rights issues.

Mr. Miller most recently served as Legal Director of the Center for Constitutional Rights ("CCR"), where he supervised the organization's domestic and international impact litigation--including a recent victory against the New York City Fire Department based on class-wide hiring discrimination (Vulcan Society v. City of New York). Prior to CCR, Mr. Miller was a Research Scholar at Columbia Law School, where he initiated and directed the Institutional Reform Project to foster the reform of failing public institutions. For many years a private practice attorney, Mr. Miller has litigated at the trial and appellate levels on cases ranging from prisoners' rights to copyright. Mr. Miller's litigation successes include representing a group of female Chevron employees in what was then the largest sexual harassment settlement in the country. Earlier in his career, Mr. Miller was a permanent law clerk to Hon. Thelton E. Henderson, U. S. District Court of Northern District of California, where he assisted in certifying the largest employment class action in U.S. history (Dukes v. Wal-Mart).

Mr. Miller holds a B.A., magna cum laude, from Tufts University and a J.D. from Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley. He is admitted to practice in New York and California state and federal courts, and in the United States Supreme Court.
