CDI College officials point to a dramatic spike in enrollments over the past year at both of the current Edmonton campuses, as well as a greater demand for career-based training offered by the college, as the reasons behind the expansion.

“With the addition of our Edmonton South campus, CDI College will meet the demand for skilled workers by local employers as well as the increased demand for skills-based training in the city,” says Bev Sillito, Regional Director for CDI College in Alberta. “Our programs are developed to meet the needs of specific industries with input from professionals within the industry so our students learn the skills that employers require. Every program focuses on teaching current tools, techniques and technologies used in the job market and students receive instruction from industry-experienced instructors.”

Last month, CDI College, which operates 13 campuses nationwide, saw a 31% increase in enrollments across the country compared to the 2008 school year. The new Edmonton South campus will offer a range of diploma programs, including Accounting and Payroll Administrator, Business Administration Management, Medical Administrative Assistant, Network and Internet Security Specialist and Oil and Gas Administrative Assistant.

“As the business, technology and health care sectors constantly evolve, employers in these fields will continue to seek out the candidates with both the credentials and the practical abilities to do the job,” says Sillito. “CDI College graduates have been successful in meeting the employment requirements of all these industries.”

Classes at the Edmonton South campus of CDI College start on October 13, 2009. Applications are currently being accepted for all programs. More information is available at http://cdicollege.ca.
