James Scott Farrin Attorneys Appointed to NC Advocates for Justice Board of Governors

Attorneys Rick Fleming and Gabe Talton of the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin have both been appointed to the Board of Governors of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice (NCAJ).

Durham, NC (PRWEB) July 6, 2010 -- Attorneys Rick Fleming and Gabe Talton of the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin have both been appointed to the Board of Governors of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice (NCAJ). Their tenure began on June 23.

Rick Fleming is Head of the Social Security Department at the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin. He joined the firm in 2002 and became a shareholder in 2008. He has earned recognition by the North Carolina State Bar as a North Carolina Board Certified Specialist in Social Security Disability Law. He is also bilingual in Spanish and English.

In addition to his service on the Board of Governors, Rick Fleming is currently Chair of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice (NCAJ) Disability Advocacy Section. He has been active with the Disability Advocacy Section for many years, serving as Secretary in 2008, Vice Chair in 2009, and Co-Chair of Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Committee from 2004 to 2008. He is also a member of the Hispanic/Latino Affairs Division and the Workers’ Compensation Section, and is a former member of the Auto Torts Section.

Other organizations Rick Fleming is involved with include the North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA), the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (NOSSCR), where he is a sustaining member, and the American Association for Justice (AAJ). He is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern and Middle Districts of North Carolina, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.

Gabe Talton joined the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin in 2006 and is currently an attorney in the firm’s Workers’ Compensation Department. Before joining the firm, Gabe Talton served as a public defender in the Miami Public Defender’s Office.

In addition to his service on the Board of Governors, Gabe Talton is currently Chair of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice (NCAJ) Hispanic/Latino Affairs Division and served as its Vice Chair last year. He is the former Communications Chair for the Auto Torts Section and is currently a member of the Workers’ Compensation Section. He was Co-Editor of the October 2009 edition of Trial Briefs, a monthly publication of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice (NCAJ). The issue focused on issues effecting immigrants and other minorities.

Gabe Talton is excited about the opportunity to serve on the North Carolina Advocates for Justice (NCAJ) Board of Governors.

Rick Fleming and Gabe Talton will be joining Attorney Michael Jordan, who was appointed to the North Carolina Advocates for Justice (NCAJ) Board of Governors earlier this year. Michael Jordan is extremely active in the North Carolina Advocates for Justice (NCAJ) and is a three-time consecutive winner of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice Order of Service Award.
