Immigration Law Debates – Make Your Opinion Heard

On April 23, 2010 Jan Brewer signed Arizona Immigration Bill meant to ease the capture of illegal immigrants by allowing Law Enforcement Officials to verify the legal status of any citizen according to "reasonable suspicion". The heated debates over this controversial matter are not even close to chilling out. Don't stand aside – let your opinion be heard on immigration.civiltalks.com

Long Island City, NY (PRWEB) June 11, 2010 - According to NumbersUSA, America is currently home for 22.7 illegal immigrants among which 22.2 millions are of Hispanic origin. All south near-border states suffered from the flood of illegal immigrants throughout decades but Arizona was the first to actually take a stand! Arizona Senate Bill 1070 (or simply SB 1070) signed by the governor of Arizona Jan Brewer on April 23, 2010 makes it a crime to violate some federal immigration statutes and authorizes local police to determine whether people are in the country legally. The act is scheduled to go into effect on July 28, 2010, ninety days after the end of the legislative session.

Heated debates over the bold decision of Jan Brewer to implement Arizona Immigration Bill are not even close to chilling out. Arizona's Governor discussed the law with President Obama on June 3, and although Jan Brewer, who requested the meeting, said the two had a "very cordial conversation", they basically agreed to disagree. While federal government plans to work out a comprehensive immigration reform instead of SB 1070, Arizona is not going to give up and repeal the controversial law. The plot thickens by given a 2012 election contest for president between Obama as the Democratic candidate and Jan Brewer as the Republican, 44 percent of all voters support the incumbent, while 39 percent prefer the governor. The odds to win are almost equal!
