WinScribe Inc., the market innovator in digital dictation, transcription, and workflow management, has launched an application for the iPhone, making professional dictation and document control available to the world's millions of iPhone users.
Chicago (PRWEB) April 23, 2010 -- WinScribe Inc., the market innovator in digital dictation, transcription, and workflow management, has launched an application for the iPhone, making professional dictation and document control available to the world's millions of iPhone users.
As the must-have iPhone spreads to the ranks of professional users, it has been added to the long list of mobile communications tools supported by the WinScribe Mobility Suite, including the BlackBerry and a range of Windows Mobile devices. Organisations with increasing numbers of iPhone users can now enjoy the benefits of an advanced digital dictation workflow system with fully integrated applications to enable total document control on the go. Rather than losing productivity from professionals whose work demands they are away from their desks and PCs for much of the day, they can provide mobile options to allow them to function as efficiently as possible at all times.
WinScribe has developed its iPhone application to integrate with the WinScribe version 4.0 digital dictation and workflow system, enabling users to effectively manage the dictation and transcription process from anywhere; sending dictations, monitoring the progress of sent jobs and receiving and reviewing transcribed text.
As well as being able to capture voice files with a click of a button and instantly send digital recordings to their support staff for transcription, WinScribe for iPhone users can tap into a whole array of innovative features such as inserting/over-writing dictations from the device; workflow routing selection; dictation job listing and profiling; near real-time job status monitoring; shake to record; selectable audio quality; a range of languages, including English, French and German, and scalable font size for ease of reading.
There are also optional subject fields and other custom fields that allow for additional supporting information to be transmitted along with the voice files. Other benefits include online/offline functionality, integration for automatic dictation profiling and selectable network transmission methods, including encrypted transmission.
Secure connection
Whilst there are already tools for making simple recordings on an iPhone and sending them, until now security has been a recognised problem with files being sent in an unsecured email. Uniquely, WinScribe for iPhone allows dictations to be sent directly to a WinScribe server through a secure HTTPS transmission. WinScribe's iPhone application is the first dictation product of its kind to offer this level of functionality at this level of security.
WinScribe's CEO, Matthew Weavers, commented, "We have recognised that the iPhone is quickly becoming adopted as a mobile business tool for many professionals. Moreover, our clients are looking for additional tools and technology options that make their workflow processes much more efficient. In response to widespread international demand, we have been developing this solution to provide our customers with the ability to use their iPhones to effectively capture and manage dictations."
"We are very excited to be offering a solution that not only furthers our business goals, but that now allows professional iPhone users, plus iPod Touch owners with a headset and microphone, access to a fully-functional solution that easily integrates with our base dictation workflow system and improves their dictation process."
Newcomers to dictation will be able to subscribe to and establish OnDemand accounts to sample the full functionality of managed digital dictation from the cloud whilst existing WinScribe customers will simply add the iPhone as another input device in their mobility suite.
