Palo Alto, Calif. (PRWEB) April 26, 2010 -- IntApp, Inc., the leading provider of risk management software for the legal industry, today announced that Townsend and Townsend and Crew LLP, recognized by leading U.S. and international publications as one of the leading intellectual property law firms, has successfully deployed IntApp Wall Builder to centrally manage confidentiality policies, enforce information access controls and track compliance across the firm.
Wall Builder is a web-based confidentiality management application that enables organizations to centrally control, monitor and report on user access permissions across multiple applications including document management, accounting, portal, CRM, time entry and records management systems. It also automates notifications to individuals subject to specific policies and tracks acknowledgments for compliance purposes.
Law firms must closely manage and track internal access to client information for many reasons. These include waiver-driven ethical screens, client outside counsel guidelines, and compliance with regulations such as the HITECH Act, ITAR and several data privacy laws.
Wall Builder replaces distributed, ad hoc approaches to information security with a centralized system that provides organizations with unprecedented capability and control over user access to specific applications, documents and other information. It’s the only product for law firms that delivers real-time enforcement while updating access rights in response to attorney behavior to ensure that policies are kept up to date automatically.
“Our move to IntApp Wall Builder is the latest step in our efforts to augment firm risk management practices,” said Julie Ashmore, Conflicts Supervisor, Townsend and Townsend and Crew LLP. “Previously, we flagged matters subject to ethical screens in our Open Text LegalKEY software application, and we wanted to enhance our approach to compliance with the centralized confidentiality management capabilities provided by Wall Builder, including active enforcement of security controls across firm document libraries, policy notifications and internal reporting.”
“We’re pleased to count Townsend as part of the growing community of law firms using Wall Builder for confidentiality management and ethical screens,” said Pat Archbold, head of IntApp's Risk Practice Group. “By adopting Wall Builder, Townsend can attest to employing the most widely-adopted, most rigorous confidentiality controls available for law firms.”
