In The City Music Conference Announces Dates and Unveils Plan to Take Over Manchester's Piccadilly

Manchester, England (Billboard Publicity Wire/PRWEB ) April 6, 2010 -- The 2010 In The City Music Conference will be held over three days beginning Wednesday 13th October to Friday 15th October, 2010, it was announced today by Founder Yvette Livesey.

While there are several festivals throughout the year, there is no other UK based music conference with the global reach of In The City. With the main focus on panelling, In The City brings forth an amazing array of different topics affecting the music industry such as digital, mobile, touring, merchandising, licensing and more. The global gathering, which Music Week has called “an essential date on the UK A&R calendar,” brings together entertainment and lifestyle professionals, musicians, and music fans for panel discussions on today’s industry hot topics, as well as give the opportunity for networking, showcasing and career development as it continues to be a platform for inspiration and discovery.

Drawing on the musical history of Manchester that continues to captivate the world, this year In The City will take over Piccadilly – the welcoming gate to Manchester – and spread out over four hotels (The City Inn, Malmaison, The Abode and The Place) with panels and networking events held daily. The evenings will be filled with music performances in over 40 venues throughout Manchester’s Northern Quarter.

Livesey also announced the appointment of Philip Coen to Chief Operating Officer of In The City. In his new role Coen will spearhead the move to Piccadilly and continue to develop In The City partnerships as well as the strategic development of the company’s brand. Prior to joining In The City, Coen was CEO for the venture capital and private equity firm Residential Ventures, CEO Kingsleigh Capital Partners LTD, as well as CEO of the telecommunications firm Intelligent Business Space LTD.
