Manhattan Born Brings Art Back to NYC

International artist George Rodez to exhibit at the 32nd Annual International ArtExpo New York, March25-28, 2010, the world's largest trade art show.

Miami, FL (PRWEB) February 28, 2010 -- International artist George Rodez to exhibit at the 32nd Annual International ArtExpo New York, March25-28, 2010, the world's largest trade art show.

When asked, why New York? Rodez states, "Well, first of all, it's is one of the leading cities when it comes to the world of art. I have exhibited there on several occasions and having been born in Manhattan myself, it is always a very special place for me to come back to, a magical place where there is a true appreciation and respect for the arts. Besides that, New York is the city that never sleeps and it is the place to see and be seen. For me, there is nothing quite like a New York audience" as he recalls the lyrics from a song called 'City Lights,' a song from a 1977 Broadway musical which he saw called 'The Act' starring Liza Minnelli. "Ah yes, those city lights." George Rodez will be exhibiting at the 32nd Annual International ArtExpo in New York, the world's largest fine art trade show. The Expo will be held at Pier 94 on the Hudson River, 711 12th Ave. in New York, from Thursday, March 25 to Sunday, March 28. Rodez's work can be seen at Solo Booth No. 257.

This time around Rodez will be exhibiting his more expressionistic collection he likes to call Elements & Values. “This collection is about breaking all boundaries, traditions, and rules in creating a body of work that is purely an expression of freedom. The art work dictates to me, I merely follow its instructions. I do not try to manipulate it in any way. I only bring forth the images I see from the depths of the colorful background as I work on each individual piece. I enjoy the freedom that this collection affords me . . . each piece is a world on its own. Never having any preconceived notions of what the piece will actually be and then I slowly begin discovering its essence. This element of surprise is totally exhilarating to me." New York ArtExpo will serve to expose Rodez's work to the trade and visitors alike. Having last visited New York for the International Caribbean Art Fair in 2007 in which he exhibited his Afro-Caribbean series, this will be an opportunity to show others the diversity of Rodez's work.

In addition, while in New York Rodez will continue his fund raising efforts to benefit the American Red Cross International Response Fund for Haiti through the sale of his artwork. His artwork entitled "The Gift of Love" will be available for sale at ArtExpo with 100% of all sales proceeds going to help the victims of Haiti's disastrous January 12th earthquake. In South Florida up to 10 different restaurant locations are currently exhibiting the artwork for clients to order online, including The Capital Grille restaurant chain. Individual gallery-wrapped 11" x 11" pieces sell for $150 each. We'd like to thank the management of Miami Decor Moulding and Miami Editions for their generous contributions of their services and products.
