Hurley Write, Inc., via a half-day writing workshop, helped a medical credentialing organization save time and money.
Wilmington, NC (Vocus/PRWEB ) February 3, 2010 -- Hurley Write, Inc., a firm that develops customized online and onsite writing courses, developed and taught a workshop for a medical credentialing organization in October 2009. Essentially, the organization was having two problems with the business letters it sent to subscribers: the letters were very long (five pages wasn't unusual) and the subscribers often had multiple questions about the information contained in the letters.
Hurley Write, Inc. analyzed the letters and developed a half-day workshop that focused on helping the organization create letters that were more effective and efficient, and that would result in the subscribers taking the action that was required of them without their having to contact the credentialing organization with questions.
"Because they had several different letters for various circumstances, we first suggested that they create subject lines for their letters that would instantly alert readers about the information that the letters contained," says Pam Hurley, PhD, founder and president of Hurley Write, Inc. "Another suggestion we had, which helped the organization cut down on the volume of the letters, was to ensure that each letter contained only one type of information. The letters, as written, often contained multiple kinds of information, and it wasn't always clear what readers were supposed to do with the information and/or what action they were being asked to take."When Hurley Write, Inc. followed up with the organization three months later, the organization was pleased with the many efficiencies in writing it had gained, some of which included fewer questions from subscribers, less writing required by staff, reduced time spent proofreading by the organization's director, and cost savings, as the organization was spending less money to send letters. "All in all," said the organization's director, "we're very pleased with the work that Hurley Write has done and we hope to continue working with them in 2010."
