Firm continues to strengthen its Environmental practice.
Washington, DC (Vocus/PRWEB ) April 20, 2009 -- Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to announce that David M. "Max" Williamson has joined the firm's Washington, DC office as Counsel in the Environmental section.
Mr. Williamson's experience spans project development, real estate, climate change, Clean Air Act, transportation planning, toxic tort, Clean Water Act and wetlands, OSHA, Superfund and brownfields programs, EPCRA and spill reporting, hazardous materials transportation, recycling, and corporate affiliate issues in the domestic and international contexts.

Mr. Williamson serves on the Board of Sailors for the Sea, an oceans conservancy advocacy non-profit, is pro bono counsel to Haitian Education and Leadership Program, and served as co-chair of the Environment, Energy and Natural Resources Section of the D.C. Bar. He also serves on the board of directors of the Alexandria Transit Company in Northern Virginia.
Mr. Williamson is a graduate of Yale University (B.A., 1987) and received his J.D., magna cum laude, and Masters degree, summa cum laude, in environmental law from Vermont Law School.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Williamson managed a nationwide practice at Beveridge & Diamond PC, assisting private and public clients with environmental and specialty litigation, regulatory counseling, transactional, and legislative issues. He also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert G. Flanders, Jr., of the Rhode Island Supreme Court, and clerked at the United States Department of Justice, Environment and Natural Resources Division Appellate Section.
