Donald P. Schweitzer has been certified as a specialist in Family Law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization.

Pasadena, California (PRWEB) August 10, 2008 -- Donald P. Schweitzer has been certified as a specialist in Family Law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization.

The State Bar of California program for certifying legal specialists is a Supreme Court approved method of certifying attorneys as Family Law specialists. Attorneys are certified through a process which includes successful passage of a written examination, completion of specific tasks in the Family Law specialty, attendance at a prescribed number of approved education programs, and peer review.

Certification is for a five-year period during which time specialists must continue to meet task, education and peer review requirements similar to those for certification.

Donald P. Schweitzer is an experienced and accomplished trial attorney, dedicating his practice to Family Law for the past 8 years. Prior to going into private practice he served eight-years as a Deputy District Attorney for Orange County. While at the District Attorney's office, Mr. Schweitzer worked in numerous units including, Writs & Appeals, Family Support, Municipal Court, Felony Panel, Gang Target, Felony Filing and the Sexual Assault Unit.

Preceding his tenure as a successful attorney, Mr. Schweitzer served as a Police Officer for approximately ten-years, where he served as a Gang Homicide Detective, a member of S.W.A.T. along with working various narcotics assignments.

Mr. Schweitzer has made numerous television appearances as a legal analyst for, amongst others, Court TV, Fox News Live, "Nancy Grace", CNN and "The O'Reilly Factor".

Donald P. Schweitzer is a member of the American Bar Association, the California State Bar, Los Angeles Bar Association, and the Pasadena Bar Association.
