False Alarm Reduction Award – Ben Binder Recognized

Ninety-six percent of burglar alarms are false alarms. This costs taxpayers billions of dollars, and police in some cities will only respond to an alarm if a burglary is verified by a person or video camera. The False Alarm Reduction Association is tackling this problem and recognized Ben Binder at its annual international symposium.

Buffalo, NY (PRWEB) May 24, 2010 -- Ben Binder, President of Digital Design Group, Inc., a software development firm located in Boulder, Colorado, received the Associate Member of the Year award from the False Alarm Reduction Association at its annual international symposium in Buffalo, NY.

Ninety-six percent of burglar alarms are false alarms, and taxpayers annually spend billions, yes billions, of dollars to cover the cost of police response to false security alarms. The percentage of false alarms is so high that police in some cities will only respond to an alarm if a burglary is verified by a person or video camera.

This problem is being attacked head-on by the False Alarm Reduction Association, a consortium of law enforcement agencies, security alarm companies and consulting firms such as Digital Design Group working together to significantly reduce the incidence of false alarms.

Digital Design Group’s false alarm billing and tracking software is used by law enforcement agencies across the nation to reduce the incidence of false alarms and to recover the costs of dispatching officers to false alarms. DDG's false alarm software was developed for smaller jurisdictions which need an affordable easy-to-use system.
