Veterans Disability Advocate Joins Freedom Disability to Represent Disabled Veterans

Plans are Underway to Hire Vets to Help Vets. Freedom Disability is proud to extend its expert disability advocacy services to more than 2 million civilian disabled veterans applying for compensation benefits from the Veterans Administration. Allen Gumpenberger, formerly of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), joins Freedom Disability as its Director of Veterans' Disability Advocacy. Freedom Disability will hire and train disabled veterans to become accredited disability advocates for the program.

Shelton, Conn. (PRWEB) April 27, 2010 -- Freedom Disability, a national Social Security Disability Advocacy group, is proud to extend its disability advocacy representation services to more than 2 million civilian disabled veterans. In response to feedback from our claimants, we are now providing expert help in applying for compensation benefits from the Veterans Administration (VA). Allen Gumpenberger, formerly of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), joins Freedom Disability as its Director of Veterans' Disability Advocacy.

We have created a unique on-the-job advocacy training program with the support of the Veterans Affairs Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Service and are pleased to be starting our recruitment efforts.

It's been an honor for me to advocate for my fellow disabled veterans over the years

Gumpenberger worked for the DAV in veterans' disability advocacy for nearly 13 years. He is an experienced and accredited veterans advocate, having completed over 2,300 hours of training from the DAV Structured and Continuing Training Program for National Service Officers, and is highly respected within the disabled veterans' community.

Gumpenberger is also a disabled veteran, having served in the Navy as a paralegal from 1994 to 1996. During that time, Gumpenberger received a Certificate of Commendation from the Regional Physical Evaluation Board for his legal service to disabled sailors, marines and their families, and for his compassion and dedication in obtaining the best possible result on their behalf.

To further our mission of serving people with disabilities, Freedom Disability will hire and train disabled veterans to become independently accredited disability advocates.

My goal will be to develop a high-quality advocacy service to meet that need. The Veterans Disability Advocacy initiative is in planning and development stages and will fully launch in the coming months.
