Speakers and topics sought for technology conference about digital privacy and identity, taking place August 17-19 in Seattle.
Sunnyvale, CA (PRWEB) April 8, 2010 -- The Call for Ideas for the pii2010 conference is now open, and anyone who is interested in recommending speakers or topics for the conference is encouraged to respond. Taking place August 17-19 in downtown Seattle, pii2010 will explore how privacy, identity and innovation are evolving in the digital age, and how to strike a balance between protecting sensitive information and enabling new technologies and services.
Taking its name from the acronym PII, which refers to personally identifiable information, pii2010 will take a comprehensive look at how electronic data is being created, shared, collected and secured, how that is likely to change in the future and the role of individuals, companies and governments.
The conference will bring together leading industry executives, technologists, consumer advocates, policy experts and other stakeholders who are passionate about these issues so they can network and learn from each other. In addition, pii2010 will serve as the official launch pad for pii Labs, an ongoing forum for brainstorming and collaborating on projects related to digital privacy, identity and innovation that will include quarterly workshops.
Through the Call for Ideas, which is open until April 30th, anyone can nominate an industry expert to speak at pii2010 or recommend topics for conference sessions. The pii2010 team is also looking for companies that are having a significant impact on digital privacy and/or identity to feature at the conference, as well as innovative projects to showcase at the pii Labs workshop. Ideas may be submitted online at http://pii2010.com.
Independently produced by SageScape, the creators of the annual Tech Policy Summit conference, pii2010 offers an open forum for spirited and participatory dialogue on the future of "privacy" and "identity" in an increasingly online and interconnected world. Information on how to register for the conference can be found online at http://pii2010.com, along with details on how to become a sponsor or exhibitor. Early bird registration, which includes special two-for-one pricing, is available until April 30th, and there are discounts for nonprofit and government employees.
