Sightline Payments Files Antitrust Complaint Against Global Cash Access

The complaint alleges that Global Cash Access has unlawfully maintained its monopoly in the gaming market by engaging in conduct that has hurt casino operators, casino customers, and a new competitive entrant, Sightline Payments.

Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) March 23, 2010 -- Sightline Payments announced today that it has filed an antitrust complaint against Global Cash Access (“GCA”) in U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada under Sections 1 and 2 of the Sherman Antitrust Act and Section 7 of the Clayton Act. Alleging that GCA’s actions unreasonably restrains trade, constitutes predatory and exclusionary conduct- the complaint asserts that GCA threatens competition in the casino cash access and ATM industry.

“This is a monumental step in changing the casino cash access and ticket redemption business everywhere in the United States. Casino operators deserve freedom of choice and their gaming patrons should be able to enjoy the benefits of innovation, better pricing, and service – and they are precluded from this by GCA,” said Kirk Sanford, Sightline Payments’ president and chief executive officer. "We allege that through exclusionary contracts, buying up the competition, disparagement, and other non-competitive conduct, GCA has, and will continue to constrict choices in the gaming industry. We thought about this for a long time, and after careful consideration, we decided this lawsuit was the right thing to do for us as a new competitor and for our prospective casino clients to insure there is fair and open competition.” View the complaint by visiting www.sightlinepayments.com/freeme.html to learn more about complaint case no. 2:10-cv-00397-pmp-pal.
