Harris & Moure Law Firm Wins Prestigious Blog Award for Third Straight Year

The American Bar Association magazine, the ABA Journal just came out with its third annual listing of the ten best blogs for 2009. China Law Blog and Above the Law were the only three-time winners.

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) January 11, 2010 -- The American Bar Association (ABA) Journal just came out with its top ten law blogs (or "blawgs") of 2009. The ABA Journal (http://www.abajournal.com/blawg100) editors chose the best 100 blawgs in ten categories, ranging from Practice Specific to Legal Theory and Geo to Lighter Fare. Journal readers then voted online for their favorites in each category. This is the third year of the competition.

Two of this year's winners, Above the Law (www.abovethelaw.com) and China Law Blog (www.chinalawblog.com) have won their category all three years. Above the Law, a "self-proclaimed legal tabloid," was named top blog in the News category and China Law Blog won in the Geo category. Above the Law was founded by David Lat, now managing editor of Breaking Media, and is currently edited by Elie Ying Mystal. China Law Blog is written by Dan Harris (in Seattle) and Steve Dickinson (in Qingdao, China), lawyers with Harris & Moure, an international boutique law firm.

"We are honored to have once again prevailed. This evidences the fierce loyalty of our readers. The ABA Blawg Award is by far the most prestigious competition for law blogs and I truly am thankful for all those who voted us to the top spot yet again."

Technolawyer blog was chosen the top Tech blog for the second year in a row. That blog touts itself as featuring, "all the legal technology and practice management news that's fit to blog." It was the only other blog to repeat its win from last year. In a very controversial move, it offered those who voted for it a chance to win $500 and $100 prizes.

The Legal Satyricon, The Corporate Counsel.net Blog, Mendelson's Musings, Talk Left , Bitter Lawyer, Ms.JD , and The Volokh Conspiracy also won in their respective categories.

This was the first year the Journal gave readers the opportunity to recommend new blogs to ABA editors, and forty blogs made the top 100 rank for the first time. The 2009 competition also marked the first year bloggers' Twitter profiles were provided.
