Kristina Consulting Group of Evergreen, CO, FightReady of Chicago, IL, and Rocky Mountain Medical of Englewood, CO, are forecasting that big changes are coming to drug and alcohol programs in 2010. Be ready for these and get in compliance by attending the FightReady™ 2010 seminar, taking place January 27 in Denver.
Evergreen, CO (PRWEB) January 22, 2010 -- Today, Kristina Hogan of Kristina Consulting Group of Evergreen, CO, and Donna Hastings of Rocky Mountain Medical of Englewood, CO, announced a day seminar taking place on January 27, 2010 in Denver. FightReady™ 2010, to be held at the Holiday Inn Central, is designed to help companies get their drug and alcohol programs in compliance. At the seminar, Rocky Mountain Medical Group, Kristina Consulting Group and Fight Ready Now will discuss all the issues going on with drug and alcohol programs, including EEOC, ADA, prescription drug, medical marijuana and occupational health-fitness for duty issues.
“More states are passing legalized medical marijuana; with this and prescription drug abuse, companies need to be defendable,” says Kristina Hogan of Kristina Consulting Group. “Being defensible and having a good, solid, drug-free workplace has many cost benefits to a company. Now that approximately 14 states have legalized marijuana laws, more changes are on the way in the legal realm and everyone should be prepared.
“Doing business in more than one state can also leave companies vulnerable, since almost every state is a little different in how their unemployment and workers’ compensation are addressed. Now EEOC and ADA may be getting into this arena.”
Other issues that will be discussed during the seminar include changes to regulated markets (DOT) in 2010 and fit for duty issues.
FightReady™ 2010’s key note speaker is William J. Judge, J.D., LL.M, who has concentrated his practice on legal issues related to substance abuse in the workplace. Mr. Judge provides risk management assessments, legal and consulting assistance for schools, employers and labor/management. Other speakers will join Mr. Judge on a panel to discuss occupational health topics such as workers compensation physicals, medical review officers and fitness for duty issues.
