This new version introduces a series of new and exciting features based on the requests of the vast user community. The steering-committee, a large user group of customers, votes on the development priorities from a list of regularly published “feature wish list”. This allows the development team at Active Innovations to focus on what is most needed by the user community.
The new version provides revolutionary improvements and additions to the already powerful document management software platform.
“One of the corner stones of our success has been the involvement of our user community in our development decisions” explains Orhan Yorukoglu, CTO of Active Innovations, Inc. who leads the development of infoRouter.

infoRouter is an Electronic Document Management Software that includes Content Management, Digital Asset Management, Document Imaging, Document Scanning, Workflow, Records Management, Document Archiving, Document Storage, Electronic Forms, ISO Document Control and Paperless Office modules under one integrated EDMS software suite.

The integrated document management solution streamlines and organizes the day-to-day business activities of thousands of companies around the globe, saving them time and money.

With support for multiple languages under a single server-based installation, infoRouter can serve customers and partners from different parts of the world in their own language. infoRouter automatically detects language settings from a user's browser and defaults to this language setting.

The browser based web interface can manage the entire array of functions of the integrated system. Users can use the web interface to manage their documents while administrators and power users can use the same interface to manage and perform administrative functions such as user creation, LDAP authentication and synchronization, library management and application settings.

In addition to the web interface, documents can be accessed through an MS Office Add-in. The add-in provides a seamless interface into infoRouter from Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio. Users can store important email transactions in infoRouter for long term archiving and sharing.

The WebDAV interface and client-side tools such as the Import-Export Tool provide users with a wide array of options to manage their documents.

For customers looking for tighter integration with in-house applications, the Web Services API allows customers to write programs based on infoRouter. Using the API, customers can automatically feed documents and information generated from other systems such as invoices from an accounting system into infoRouter folders.

An advanced workflow engine can handle complex workflow scenarios that can be defined with great ease. Documents can be routed for review and approval. InfoRouter keeps detailed audit logs to track ISO documents, financial documents (SOX) and every major business activity performed through the system.

The new version allows authors to create multiple versions of their documents while deciding to show users a specific version of the document. This way, users can see an approved version of the document while the document is being worked on and is in-progress.

The greatly enhanced “Library Policies” feature allows library managers to set rules for specific libraries. This rules-based engine can re-define what security permissions allow users to do. While a user with “Full Control” permissions can normally delete documents in one library, a simple policy rule can prevent the deletion of documents in the library. This allows library managers and administrators to define security at multiple levels.

infoRouter also provides a series of standalone tools that address the needs of customers using scanners, fax servers and email servers. “Our EDMS can support all kinds of scanners and multi-function peripherals (MFPs) such as Kyocera and HP through a series of tools designed for flexible integration.” explains Ed Quackenbush, Vice President of Sales at Active Innovations, Inc. when asked about integration into third-party devices.

The server-based application operates on the Microsoft Windows Server platform. All documents are stored in a central document warehouse at the customer’s location.
