Marc Dedman, a member of the International Society of Primerus Law Firms, speaks at the annual Corporate Counsel Seminar in Georgia.

Grand Rapids, MI (PRWEB) December 22, 2009 -- The International Society of Primerus Law Firms (Primerus) is proud to announce that one of its member attorneys, Marc Dedman of Spicer Rudstrom (www.primerus.com/firms/spicer_rudstrom_pllc.htm), PLLC in Memphis/Nashville, TN, recently spoke at the annual Corporate Counsel Seminar.

The 2009 Corporate Counsel Seminar, sponsored by the Institute of Continuing Legal Education of Georgia, has been held in December for the past 25 years.

Mr. Dedman, who was a part of a panel entitled "Changing Model of Outside Law Firms and the Value Proposition," discussed the benefits of the ACC Value Challenge. Michael Roster, Chairman of the ACC Value Challenge Steering Committee, explains "...the ACC Value Challenge is based on the concept that firms can greatly improve the value of what they do, reduce their costs to corporate clients and still maintain strong profitability."

The panel also focused on ways to teach inside and outside counsel how to maximize the value in their relationships. It emphasized the value of using small and medium sized law firms and explained the benefits in doing so, which include partner level work at a reasonable fees.

“The presentation allowed Spicer Rudstrom, PLLC, and Primerus to reinforce the message that small to mid-size firms, of which Primerus is comprised, afford corporate counsel additional options, frequently at substantially less cost (www.primerus.com/about.htm),” Marc explains. Marc also said that “the keen interaction between conference attendees and the panel members demonstrates the interest corporations have in the message Primerus, and its member firms, have to offer."

The 2009 Corporate Counsel Seminar, which was held at The Capital City Club in Atlanta, GA, attracted between 150 and 200 attorneys. Other panelists included S. Renee Huskey, founding partner of Ichter Thomas, LLC.; Judy Powell, Kilpatrick Stockton, LLP.; Elizabeth B. Chandler, Vice President and General Counsel, Ashbury Automotive Group; Teresa T. Kennedy, Assistant General Counsel, Cox Communications, Inc.; and Mary Ulmer-Jones, Associate General Counsel, Bank of America.
