Howard Goldman and Caroline Harris Join Forces to Create GoldmanHarris LLC Law Firm

Highly regarded attorneys announce creation of boutique law firm with focus on land use, zoning, landmarks and real estate development in New York City

New York (Lexis Nexis/PRWEB ) December 11, 2009 -- Howard Goldman and Caroline G. Harris, partners in the Law Offices of Howard Goldman, LLC, today announced the formation of GoldmanHarris LLC, a new firm set to open its doors on January 1, 2010.

Created one year after Harris joined Goldman's practice, GoldmanHarris LLC will continue to provide legal services with respect to zoning, land use, landmarks and historic preservation matters throughout New York City. The firm practices before the City Planning Commission, Board of Standards and Appeals, Department of Buildings, Landmarks Preservation Commission and related agencies. It also works on projects involving the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development, NYC Economic Development Corporation and the NYS Empire State Development Corporation.

"We think our new firm name and image will attract a broader cross section of the market and that our clients will greatly benefit from our extensive combined experience as land use and real estate attorneys," said Goldman. "In this market, being a small boutique operation is an advantage -- we serve clients efficiently and work with other law firms to serve their clients as the experts in our field."

Goldman has more than 30 years of experience as a land use attorney, including a prior stint as Deputy Counsel to the City Planning Commission, and was the founder of GoldmanHarris' predecessor, The Law Offices of Howard Goldman, LLC. He was named as one of the top land use attorneys in the New York area by New York Magazine in 2007 and 2008 and he was named a New York SuperLawyer in 2009.

Harris has more than 25 years of experience in the field. Prior to joining the Law Offices of Howard Goldman as a partner, Harris was Counsel in the New York office of Troutman Sanders, an international law firm with a substantial real estate practice, and practiced as a land use attorney at other Manhattan law firms and as Associate Counsel to the City Planning Commission. She was recently named a New York SuperLawyer for the third consecutive year.

Goldman and Harris have known each other professionally 25 years. They married in 2006 and are the only "husband and wife" team of zoning lawyers in New York City.
