Mr. Arnold was chosen as "a great example of a trial lawyer working for his community under the radar--donating time, expertise and money," according to the CCTLA.

The Friedman Humanitarian Award honors exceptional public service, recognizing trial lawyers who have shown an outstanding commitment to their community.

"Receiving this award is a great honor," Mr. Arnold said. "My law practice grew from my desire to help others, and I want to thank the Capitol City Trial Lawyers Association for this humbling recognition."

A veteran of the Vietnam War, Mr. Arnold founded his Sacramento firm in 1975 with a commitment to represent people rather than corporations. Over the next 34 years, Mr. Arnold developed a firm with a reputation for hard work, success and compassionate client dedication.

His success has allowed him to expand his role in the Sacramento and California legal communities, where he has served as Judge Pro Tem for the Sacramento and Placer Superior Courts. He also has sat as a judge for the Constitutional Rights Foundation Mock Trials and was the Loretto High School Mock Trial Team coach for three years. Additionally, he served on the Board of Directors of the Capitol City Trial Lawyers Association from 1976 to 2001, when he served as President of that organization.

Mr. Arnold has made significant community contributions in addition to the practice of law. In 1992, he co-founded the Roseville Community School that continues to serve the Sacramento area with an innovative hands-on approach to youth education. He has twice been appointed to serve on a Sacramento County advisory board where he helped to supervise building permits and reduce zoning violations. While serving with the board, he also helped craft a no-cost trash removal service that helps to eliminate the accumulation of unsightly and potentially dangerous waste.

The Sacramento County Master Plan also benefited from two years of service by Mr. Arnold, including his successful efforts to secure federal funding for the Rio Linda Water Company expansion.

The Arnold Law Firm regularly sponsors and participates in such charitable events as the Run to Feed the Hungry, the Walk for Thought (benefitting the California Brain Injury Association), and the American Cancer Society Run and also every year "adopts" a Family for Christmas by providing gifts and household goods to a needy family in the community.
