Tampa, FL (PRWEB) August 26, 2009 -- Tampa criminal defense firm Mayberry/Rich (www.mayberry/rich.com) earned back to back trial wins for two of their clients. Mayberry/Rich, headed by Tampa criminal lawyers Jason Mayberry and Jeff Rich, went to trial for two separate clients on August 6, 2009 and August 11, 2009, and achieved acquittals in both cases*.

The first trial, was held in the Hillsborough County court on August 6, 2009. In this trial, defended by Tampa criminal lawyer Jeff Rich, the defendant was charged with a misdemeanor. The career choice of the defendant in this case would have been compromised if the result was anything less than total acquittal. Criminal defense attorney, Jeff Rich advised his client to remain seated in the audience when his case was called to avoid the Officer having a free shot to determine identity. When the State asked the Officer to identify the Defendant in the audience, the Officer identified the wrong person. Jeff Rich earned a trial win on a Judgment of Acquittal due to the fact that the officer was unable to identify the defendant correctly.

The second trial was held in the Polk County Court on August 11, 2009, and this case was defended by both Tampa criminal attorneys Mayberry and Rich. The defendant had been charged with battery after a fight broke out during a concert in Lakeland. The defendant owns a clothing line and was sponsoring 4 of the bands playing on the night of the incident. Tampa criminal attorney Jason Mayberry advised the defendant to take this case to trial as he felt he had a good self defense argument based upon the facts of the case. After aggressive cross examination of the alleged victim and witnesses, and a compelling closing argument indicating self defense on the part of the defendant, the Jury found the defendant not guilty.

"It was a good week at Mayberry/Rich," affirmed Tampa criminal attorney Jeff Rich. "We were able to provide a solid defense for our clients and prove their innocence in the courtroom. It is weeks like this that I am glad I decided to practice criminal defense. Though Mayberry and I have complete contrasting styles in the courtroom, we always seem to give the jury what they want. I feel confident we gave these defendants, and all our clients, the best defense possible," said Rich.
