San Jose, CA (PRWEB) July 24, 2009 -- Robert Allard and Timothy McMahon, San Jose personal injury law firm of Corsiglia, McMahon & Allard, have been selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers magazine as two of the top attorneys in California for 2009. Less than five percent of the lawyers in the state are honored for selection.

Both Allard and McMahon have resolved large cases this year that many thought were not winnable and the offers to settle very low or non-existent.

In the case Allen vs. Bottomley Distributing, Inc. and Raymond James, case number 1-07-CV-088642, a Santa Clara County Superior Court jury found in favor of Allard's client, awarding what is believed to be one of the highest proportionate awards for general damages in Santa Clara County in recent years (over 8 times the special damages, which consisted only of medical bills since wage loss was not claimed). In another case, a San Jose arbitrator awarded Allard's client a gross award of more than $2 million for severe injuries sustained while on a public school field trip in May of 2007. For 18 months the school district's excess coverage property and liability program refused to offer or pay any money.

Attorney Timothy McMahon also achieved one of the first settlements of its kind in California involving a "cyber bully" case where both the teenagers and the parents through their insurance carriers were held financially responsible for the devastating effects caused by an Internet prank gone too far. McMahon has several verdicts and settlements that are among the largest in the state for the injury or claim involved.

Allard and McMahon join partner Brad Corsiglia, honored by Best Lawyers in America, and associate Mark Sigala, President, Santa Clara County Trial Lawyers Association, to position Corsiglia, McMahon & Allard as the top personal injury law firm in Silicon Valley.

The selections for inclusion in Super Lawyers are made by Law & Politics, which undertakes a rigorous multi-phase selection process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, independent evaluation of candidates by Law & Politics' attorney-led research staff, a peer review of candidates by practice area, and a good-standing and disciplinary check.
