San Francisco, CA (Billboard Publicity Wire/PRWEB ) June 10, 2009 -- The Bandwidth Music | Technology Conference, an annual gathering of music/media executives and digital music professionals, takes place on August 27 and 28, 2009 in San Francisco. Bandwidth explores the evolving musical experience --how people discover, purchase, interact with, and are exposed to new music -- with a focus on marketing, fan behavior, current trends, and future forecasts.

Bandwidth has announced the first of this year's confirmed speakers. Featured will be Livia Tortella, GM/Executive VP of Marketing and Creative Media at Atlantic Records. In the past ten years, Tortella developed the careers of numerous artists including Paramore, Death Cab For Cutie, Rob Thomas and Kid Rock. She facilitated the launch of several new label ventures, most notably Chop Shop Records, whose Twilight soundtrack debuted at #1 and was certified double platinum by the RIAA. At Atlantic, Tortella focuses on business and digital product development, such as establishing artist fan clubs, merchandise products and direct-to-consumer strategy. Atlantic's innovation in digital marketing made them the first major label ever to earn 50% of their revenue from digital products.

Also featured at the 2009 conference will be Jeff Price, Founder and CEO of TuneCore. TuneCore is a delivery, distribution and music service company that allows artists to monitor their own music distribution, maintain all of their rights, and receive 100% of the revenue from their sales. Price is also the co-founder and former GM/President of the independent record label spinART, which has distributed over 190 releases since its inception, including such artist as The Pixies, Apples In Stereo, Richard Thompson, Echo & The Bunnymen, The Church and others.

Bandwidth Conference 2009 will feature prominent trailblazers from various segments of the music industry. Each speaker will provide an unique perspective on the current state of the industry and identify the key opportunities and challenges for today's music, media, and tech professionals. Speakers at previous Bandwidth Conferences have included Jonathan Poneman, co-founder, Sub Pop; Ian Rogers, CEO, TopSpin Media; Peter Standish, Sr. VP of Marketing, Warner Bros.; Terry McBride, CEO, Nettwerk Music Group; Alexandra Patsavas, head of Chop Shop Music Supervision; Susan Bonds, President & CEO, 42 Entertainment; Kevin Arnold, Founder/CEO, IODA and artist Alejandro Escovedo.
