Centric Search v.2 marks the initial release of Servient's new search acceleration technology, which provides sub-second performance for search and statistical feedback on terabytes of data.
Houston, TX (PRWEB) May 19, 2009 -- Servient Inc. announced today the release of version 2 of its search and culling platform, Centric Search. Centric Search v.2 marks the initial release of Servient's new search acceleration technology, which provides sub-second performance for search and statistical feedback on terabytes of data.
The platform revisions provide many additional features including a new workflow to simplify and manage complex search criteria, new email analytics and tighter integration with Servient's legal review platform, Discovery Compass.
The volume of data involved in litigation is ever growing and Servient has recognized that effective e-discovery requires complex, multiple queries that are refined in an iterative process as the user's understanding of the documents evolves through review of sample results. Centric Search provides fast search response, an iterative search protocol and quick statistical feedback. "Servient's search acceleration technology provides the horsepower necessary to power the query refinement process to tame the large data volumes involved in today's electronic discovery projects," said Ian Wilson, Servient's Founder and CEO.
Along with the ability to speed the process, Servient states that Centric Search also manages complex search criteria. This is an important attribute in that an effective search protocol requires multiple search queries designed to identify specific sets of documents. "Centric Search simplifies the management of complex queries by allowing the lawyer to split the queries into logical segments, evaluate their effectiveness and combine queries at run time," explained Wilson.
Other improvements designed into the new release are enhanced statistical sampling and advanced email analytics.
Integrated statistical sampling generates random samples to assess the extent of "false positives" returned by each query or segment of query. Statistical sampling is also integrated into the platform to allow verification of the effectiveness of the search and determine the likelihood that responsive documents have not been identified by the search protocol.
Advanced email analytics have been incorporated by Servient to provide assistance in query generation by giving an overview of email addresses and domains. This allows for identification of common alias and alternate email addresses used by witnesses.
One of the most differentiating aspects of Servient's platform is its ease of integration with its legal review platform Discovery Compass. "Centric Search allows the legal team to control the search and culling phase. Seamless integration with Discovery Compass allows for efficient movement from culling to review enabling a truly iterative approach to electronic discovery management," concluded Wilson.
