ASNP Presents New Book Featuring Stories of Inspiration for Special Needs Families

All the Bunnies, created and distributed by the Academy of Special Needs Planners, features tales of love, hope, wisdom and courage; written by those who've experienced the challenges and joys of caring for people with special needs

Providnce, RI (PRWEB) May 6, 2009 -- The Academy of Special Needs Planners (ASNP), the largest membership organization for attorneys providing services to people with special needs and their families, today released a compilation of real-life stories and anecdotes entitled All the Bunnies. Written exclusively by members of ASNP, many of whom have first-hand experience in both caring for and legally protecting special needs family members, the book recounts the challenges and joys of interacting and working with people with special needs. All the Bunnies serves as a source of hope and inspiration for those who have loved ones with special needs, while simultaneously conveying important legal lessons that are critical for these families.

"All members of the Academy of Special Needs Planners have a deep commitment to helping children and families with special needs. The stories in this book will help the public better understand why our members have dedicated their careers to assisting these families," said Vincent J. Russo, editor of All the Bunnies and co-founder of ASNP. "The stories in the book are very personal, and I thank my colleagues for chronicling what are both wonderful and bittersweet anecdotes of their loved ones and clients. Reading these articles is an unquestionably moving experience that shines a light on just some of the complex issues pertinent to families with special needs."

The book's authors are not only attorneys, but range from parents who have lost children born with special needs, to those who grew up with special needs siblings, one who has made limitless sacrifices to care for her now-adult autistic brother. The fourteen stories told in the book highlight some of the attorneys' most significant interactions with their family members and clients with special needs, as well as reasons why each entered the field of special needs planning. In telling their stories, the authors also emphasize some of the crucial topics involved in special needs planning, including creating a Memorandum of Intent, hiring care managers, developing special needs trusts and how to best manage available assistance programs.

"As special needs planners, we are privileged to work with inspiring individuals and families on a daily basis," said Russo. "It is our hope that this book will provide comfort to readers that they are not alone in caring for a loved one with special needs and that it will lend some insight as to what readers can do to ensure the best long-term quality-of-life for their loved one. This process often begins with meeting a special needs planner who understands their unique situations."

All the Bunnies is available for hard-copy purchase for $9.95 or digital download for $1.99 exclusively on the ASNP website at http://www.specialneedsanswers.com and will soon be available for download to Kindle.
