Solid PDF Tools goes head to head with other PDF/A validators and converters and outshines the competition.
Redmond, Washington (PRWEB) February 3, 2009 -- Solid Documents, a leading provider of document utility products, offers one of the best PDF/A-1 validation software products on the market.
Solid Documents is a member of the PDF/A Competence Center, a cooperation between numerous world-leading companies and experts in PDF technology. PDF/A-1b is an ISO Standard (19005-1) for using the PDF format for the long-term archiving of electronic documents.
The PDF/A Competence Center released a suite of tests called "Isartor" in order to validate the validators. PDF/A Competence Center states that the test suite deliberately violates the requirements of PDF/A-1 in a systematic way in order to check whether PDF/A-1 validation software actually finds the violations. The Isartor test suite consists of files that represent the PDF features that are not allowed in PDF/A-1b in addition to the basic PDF document structure that must be present for a file to conform to the standard and be validated as PDF/A-1b compliant.
Solid Documents did a competitive review using the Isartor test suite on Solid PDF Tools, Adobe® Acrobat® 9 and 2 other major PDF validation tools. Solid PDF Tools performed better than its competitors, passing all the required checks while Acrobat 9 did not.
Solid Documents also used the Isartor test suite files to see which products could correct the PDF/A errors and convert into complaint PDF/A files. Solid PDF Tools was able to correctly fix the non-compliant issues in 90% of the test files. Acrobat 9 only converted 46% of the test files correctly, half of what Solid PDF Tools did.
Solid PDF Tools is easy to use and flexible, accommodating users with an intuitive user interface as well as flexible batch processing. It provides accurate detailed conformance results. Adobe Acrobat 9 has high visibility due to its name brand, but is not intuitive for the user to easily process a batch of files from PDF to PDF/A and does not offer a high level of conformance.
