Williston, VT (PRWEB) February 3, 2009 -- ipCapital Group, Inc. (http://www.ipcg.com), one of the nation's leading intellectual property (IP) strategy consulting and licensing firms, is pleased to announce the election of its latest advisory board member, Angelo Arcadipane. Mr. Arcadipane is a former Managing Partner Emeritus of Dickstein Shapiro, a leading Washington, DC law firm with 400 attorneys and offices in New York and Los Angeles.
Between 1992 and 2004, Mr. Arcadipane led the strategic direction of Dickstein Shapiro from both a business and a legal perspective, including mergers and acquisitions, and practice development. Mr. Arcadipane joined the Firm in 1978 as a partner and head of its General Litigation and Labor & Employment Practices. He has represented clients in every aspect of labor relations affairs and counseled employers on a full range of human relations issues.
Under Mr. Arcadipane's leadership, Dickstein Shapiro reached, and in many instances surpassed, its strategic goals. The Firm doubled in size from 175 attorneys and 190 staff to 325 attorneys and 420 staff; Firm revenue increased from $48 million to $220 million; profits per partner quadrupled; and the Firm significantly upgraded its client base to include 74 Fortune 500 companies. In 2003, Mr. Arcadipane was recognized as one of "The Best of the Law Firm Leaders" in Of Counsel, The Legal Practice and Management Report, which featured a handful of prominent law firm leaders across the country.
Mr. Arcadipane also has devoted a substantial part of his career to the creation and implementation of litigation strategies in multidiscipline and multiforum cases. Mr. Arcadipane began his career in the General Counsel's Office of the National Labor Relations Board, where he practiced before the federal district courts and argued numerous cases in U.S. courts of appeal around the country. Mr. Arcadipane is a member of the bar of the District of Columbia and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, as well as before many U.S. courts of appeal. Until recently, Mr. Arcadipane served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland, one of the largest hospitals in the greater Washington, DC area.
A graduate of Rider College, Mr. Arcadipane thereafter received his M.A. in economics from The Pennsylvania State University (1965). He received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law School (1968), where he participated successfully in the moot court program and clerked for one of the country's leading labor law professors.
When asked about joining the Board of ipCapital Group, Mr. Arcadipane stated; "I see serving on this particular Board as an exciting opportunity in an area of growing strategic importance to all businesses and especially those that plan on adding significant innovation to their company."
John Cronin Chairman & Managing Director of ipCG said he was "thrilled to have Mr. Arcadipane's depth and breadth of IP knowledge and successful board and firm leadership available to ipCapital Group. Angelo will be a key asset to further ipCG's services in the area of IP litigation support, process engineering and further development of strategic licensing."
