Kelly B. LaPar, an attorney in the Business and Commercial Litigation practice group at the law firm of Sands Anderson Marks & Miller, won the Arabian Hunter Pleasure Adult Amateur Owner to Ride category for her age group at the July 4th 2008 Arabian Horse Association (AHA) Region 15 Championships held in the Lexington Horse Park in Lexington, Virginia.

LaPar, an attorney in the Business and Commercial Litigation practice group at the law firm of Sands Anderson Marks & Miller, won the Arabian Hunter Pleasure Adult Amateur Owner to Ride category for her age group at the July 4th 2008 Arabian Horse Association (AHA) Region 15 Championships held in the Lexington Horse Park in Lexington, Virginia.
LaPar, a construction lawyer who is also developing a Virginia practice in equine law, and her horse, Sshameless Knight, were unanimous champions of the division which means that all three judges placed them first on their score cards. Horse and rider are now qualified to compete in 2008 Arabian Horse Association U.S. Nationals in Tulsa, Oklahoma in October of this year.
LaPar is an avid horsewoman with 22 years of experience in the saddle and she assisted in the training of Shameless Knight. AHA Region 15 encompasses Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Over 700 horses from these and other states competed at the show.
LaPar's law practice began in Colorado, where she focused on construction contracts, construction defects claims and construction defect products liability claims. She has worked with issues involving multi-family residential developments, specialist subcontractors and complex construction systems. Her Colorado legal work also included equine law, a practice she started at her firm.
Richmond lawyer, LaPar completed her B.A degree at Flagler College and earned her J.D. from The University of Denver College of Law.
