Brayton Purcell Proud to Be a Sponsor of the Children's Health Initiative Summer Solstice Luncheon

Brayton Purcell is proud to be a sponsor of the 6th Annual Summer Solstice Luncheon in support of the CalKids program of Children's Health Initiative.

Novato, CA (PRWEB) June 13, 2008 -- Brayton Purcell is proud to be a sponsor of the 6th Annual Summer Solstice Luncheon in support of the CalKids program of Children's Health Initiative (CHI). Every year, the Annual Summer Solstice Event raises funds to help provide essential health care to uninsured children within the community of Marin County. An alliance between Marin Community Clinics, The Coastal Health Alliance and CalKids helps hard-working families in Marin who cannot afford medical care or private health insurance and cannot qualify for public insurance programs.

On Saturday, June 21, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., the 6th Annual Summer Solstice Event will be held in the Atrium at Autodesk in San Rafael. Please come and enjoy a late afternoon of music, food and fun, and honoring 2008's CHI Champions. The music is a captivating blend of jazz and Latin music by Second Opinion jazz band, lead by local physician David Kell. The raffle includes a grand prize weekend trip to Los Angeles for a Dodger versus Giants game, airfare, hotel, and restaurant. There will be a silent auction and wine tasting as well. The afternoon buffet includes food from a variety of some of Marin's finest restaurants. There will be a special presentation by Supervisor Susan L. Adams, and special guest Dr. Eric Scher Rocio Hernandez. Proceeds from the tickets (tax deductible) benefit the California Kids Health Care Foundation, a provider for CHI. For information about the event please visit their web site.

About the Children's Health Initiative
The Marin children's health initiative's goal is to ensure that all of the community's children have access to health care insurance regardless of family income. In Marin there are more than 3000 children under age 19 who are uninsured. About two thirds are eligible for Medi-Cal or a similar program, but the others need the community's help. If you would like to attend the event, or are interested in learning more about the CHI, you can visit their web site.
