Brayton Purcell and the Novato Human Needs Center Bringing Holiday Cheer to Those in Need

Brayton Purcell plans to bring holiday cheer to parents and children this season by continuing its long-term support of the Novato Human Needs Center (NHNC), a local nonprofit group that helps low-income families in times of crisis and assists them in achieving self-sufficiency.

Novato, CA (PRWEB) November 22, 2007 -- Brayton Purcell plans to bring holiday cheer to parents and children this season, by continuing its long-term support of the Novato Human Needs Center (NHNC), a local nonprofit group that helps low-income families in times of crisis and assists them in achieving self-sufficiency. A community fixture since 1972, the NHNC provides counseling, information and referral, transportation and employment services and emergency food, clothing and housing assistance. Each year, the NHNC assists almost 4,000 residents.

This November, in the spirit of holiday giving, Brayton Purcell has organized a canned food drive as part of NHNC's Holiday Share Program, a program that provides low-income families with holiday food. Brayton Purcell is collecting foods such as potatoes and yams, stuffing mix, canned fruits and vegetables, soup, gravy, and more. Over 500 families will receive food in time for the holidays! In addition to collecting food, Brayton Purcell is actively raising money through individual cash donations to the NHNC. As it has been in the past, the firm will match the monetary donations of its employees.

In December, Brayton Purcell will continue the canned food drive for the NHNC, and create an "angel tree," a Christmas tree decorated with paper stars that have family wishes written on the stars. Brayton Purcell employees will take a star and grant that wish to someone! Also, Brayton Purcell volunteers plan to be a part of the NHNC's "Children's Shopping Day"in December, a special event where selected volunteers can help a child pick out the "perfect gift" for mom and dad from a gift store. Children also receive teddy bears, a visit with Santa Claus, and enjoy milk and cookies with mom and dad! This heart warming event takes place on December 8th from 12:30 (registration time) to 4:30. If you would like to volunteer or make a donation to the NHNC or visit the Novato Human Needs Center web site.
