During her time as a Maryland Assistant State's Attorney, she received a Governor’s Citation, a House Resolution from the Maryland House of Delegates, and a Resolution from the Senate of Maryland in recognition of her distinguished service.

Ms Closser graduated from the George Washington Law School in 1995, where she participated in the Criminal and Appellate Clinic. Ms. Closser graduated cum laude from Wellesley College in 1992.
