(PRWEB) April 12, 2010 -- Ball Eggleston, PC, is pleased to report that attorney Steven P. Meyer was recently appointed to the City of Lafayette Historic Preservation Commission by Mayor Tony Roswarski. The appointment was confirmed by the City Council.
Established in 1993, the Historic Preservation Commission exercises oversight in the Historical Districts of the City of Lafayette. The Commission’s purpose is to designate Local Historic Districts and promote economic growth in those areas. The commission consists of nine members, each appointed by the mayor. Commission members serve three year terms.
Mr. Meyer joined the firm as a shareholder in January 2001 to expand the firm’s litigation practice. Mr. Meyer has extensive jury trial experience from his 14 years as a public defender in addition to his prior civil practice. His practice focuses on Personal Injury, General Litigation, Criminal Defense, and Family Law. In addition to serving on the Historic Preservation Commission, Mr. Meyer has also served as a director on the Area IV Council on Aging Development Board; Friendship House, Inc.; and Lafayette Urban Enterprise Association.
