McCarter & English Elevates Three To Partnership In Boston, Newark And Stamford Offices

McCarter & English has named three new partners in its offices in Boston, Newark and Stamford in the practice areas of Business & Financial Services Litigation and Labor & Employment Law. Gregory D. Cote, Amy Haberman and Christopher Mayer are partners in the firm.

Gregory D. Cote, Amy Haberman and Christopher Mayer are partners in the firm.

Mr. Gregory D. Cote joins as a partner in the Business & Financial Services Litigation Practice in the Boston office. He represents both small and large businesses and occasionally individuals concentrating in the areas of hospitality, employment, civil rights, contracts, unfair and deceptive conduct, class action, private property rights and appellate litigation. Cote has played an integral role in obtaining significant victories for the firm’s clients including the successful defense of a large food service company in a case of first impression concerning the application and interpretation of the Massachusetts Tips Act. He has recently been appointed a member of the Massachusetts State Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights.

Ms. Amy Haberman joins as a partner in the Labor & Employment Law Practice in the Stamford office. She represents domestic and multi-national corporate clients across a variety of industries on a full range of employment–based immigration matters, including the recruitment and transfer of foreign nationals, the immigration consequences of mergers and acquisitions and the I-9 process. Haberman also has significant experience counseling individual clients on family based immigration matters. She has been published in the International Contracts Advisor and is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.

Mr. Christopher S. Mayer joins as a partner in the Labor & Employment Law Practice in the Newark office. He represents employers in trial and appellate courts and before administrative agencies in whistle-blower, retaliation, harassment, discrimination and other employment litigation. Mayer counsels employers on employment policies relating to harassment and discrimination complaints, employee leave requests, disability accommodation, employment agreements, releases, termination and layoffs. Mayer was recognized as a New Jersey Rising Star for 2008 and 2009
