CONSOR Intellectual Asset Management is pleased to welcome Lewis Koppel to its Board of Advisors. Mr. Koppel’s professional history with intellectual property and litigation support dates back more than two decades
La Jolla, CA (Vocus/PRWEB ) March 17, 2010 -- CONSOR Intellectual Asset Management is pleased to welcome Lewis Koppel to its Board of Advisors. Mr. Koppel’s professional history with intellectual property and litigation support dates back more than two decades. He is distinguished by his technical background, years of corporate and consulting experience, and CPA certification.
In 1990, Mr. Koppel joined the newly-formed IPC Group, a pioneer firm in intellectual property valuation and consulting. He participated in the early expansion of the practice into all types of intellectual property, ranging from trademarks to trade secrets, with an emphasis on the more technical types of intellectual property and intangible assets.
After a decade, the merger of IPC Group and other firms resulted in the formation of InteCap, Inc., an industry leader in intellectual property matters. As a senior partner, Mr. Koppel continued his work, focusing on many aspects of intellectual property, including valuation, consulting, and litigation support.
InteCap was acquired by Charles River Associates, a publicly-traded consulting firm, in 2004. Under this new banner, Mr. Koppel served as a Vice President of their intellectual property consulting practice, where his work emphasized IP valuation and litigation support.
Prior to beginning his consulting career, Mr. Koppel held executive positions in strategy and planning in the chemicals and materials industry. He earned a B.S. degree in Chemistry at the University of Illinois, a Ph.D. in Chemical Physics at Columbia University, and an M.B.A. at the Harvard Business School.
“Coming at a time when CONSOR is actively expanding its patent valuation and technology litigation support services, we are delighted to have Mr. Koppel join the Board of Advisors and serve as a senior consultant on a range of intellectual property projects,” said Doug Bania, director at CONSOR.
“I look forward to working with the CONSOR team,” says Mr. Koppel, “whose success over nearly 25 years promises to provide continuing opportunities to work on a broad range of IP-related projects across a number of industries and contexts.”
Mr. Koppel is an avid reader of history in general and of intellectual property history in particular. Based in Chicago, he frequently attends many of the city’s vibrant theater and classical music productions.
