Dr. Catherine Ross to Participate Today in White House Clean Energy Economy Forum

Dr. Catherine L. Ross, editor of Megaregions: Planning for Global Competitiveness and director of the Center for Quality Growth and Regional Development at Georgia Institute of Technology, is participating today in a special meeting at The White House Clean Energy Economy Forum: Livability and Sustainable Communities – Taking Action for a Clean Energy Future.

Today’s meeting is just another indicator that that this country’s administration is moving in a new direction for sustainable solutions that will continue to make the U.S. competitive globally.

Atlanta, Ga. (PRWEB) March 3, 2010 -- Dr. Catherine L. Ross, editor of "Megaregions: Planning for Global Competitiveness" and director of the Center for Quality Growth and Regional Development at Georgia Institute of Technology, is participating today in a special meeting at The White House: Clean Energy Economy Forum: Livability and Sustainable Communities – Taking Action for a Clean Energy Future.

The forum will include presentations from Secretary Ray LaHood of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and Secretary Shaun Donovan of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The meeting will shape dialogue on why action for a clean energy future is of vital importance and will include stakeholders from the smart growth, clean energy, and climate communities regarding the issue.

Dr. Catherine Ross is an internationally recognized expert on transportation, regional planning, infrastructure planning and development and has extensive experience in both the public and private sector. Ross advises the newly created White House Office of Urban Affairs. It is headed by Director Adolfo CarriĆ³n, Jr., who is charged with reporting directly to President Obama and concurrently to both Valerie Jarrett and Melody Barnes.
