Communications and social media firm adds veteran business journalist Thornton Kennedy as it prepares to grow in 2010 and beyond.
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) February 11, 2010 -- Veteran journalist Thornton Kennedy has joined Wilbert News Strategies as partner. He brings 12 years of journalism experience and strong personal and business contacts to the firm founded last year by former journalist and communications expert Tony Wilbert.
For the past four years, Kennedy edited the Industry Focus sections and the small business Strategies section of Atlanta Business Chronicle. Prior to his work at the ABC, he served as the editor for the Northside and Sandy Springs Neighbor newspapers, which cover the Buckhead, Vinings, Sandy Springs and Dunwoody communities in Atlanta. He also served as an editor with the Gaston Gazette in Gastonia, N.C. and the Marietta Daily Journal.
Active in the community, Kennedy serves on the board of the Atlanta Humane Society, where he sits on the executive committee. He also serves on the communications committee of the Georgia Council for Economic Education. He serves on the board of the Ricks-Wheeler Fund, which is charged with helping improve the lives of persons affected by HIV/AIDS in Atlanta. He is a member of the Atlanta Press Club, the Public Relations Society of America and the Atlanta History Center.
