Laid off Telecom Professional becomes a Cybertary…A Cyber What?

Cybertary Opens First Office in Virginia, the State Ranked by Forbes as the Best for Doing Business in the U.S.

Chantilly, Va. (PRWEB) February 24, 2010 -- Cybertary… Cyber What? That is the typical response whenever Patrick Morris, President of the local Cybertary.com franchise tells people what he is doing after being laid off. Cybertary, Inc., a network of professional Virtual Assistants (VAs) supporting independent and small business owners, announced it sold its first franchise office in Virginia to husband and wife team, Patrick and Kristen Morris of Centreville, Virginia. Cybertary now has 25 offices nationwide. Many of the Cybertary franchise owners are people who have been laid off from their corporate jobs, forcing them to assess how a career fits into their lifestyle priorities and choose to leave their traditional careers behind to become entrepreneurs.

Virginia is an ideal state to run a business according to Forbes Magazine and CNBC. In 2009, Forbes.com and Forbes Magazine again placed Virginia first in the nation as the best state for business -- for the fourth year in a row. Forbes' index is based on a combination of business climate, labor, regulatory environment, economic climate, growth prospects, and quality of life. In July 2009, CNBC and CNBC.com ranked Virginia as its top state for business, based on 40 measures of competitiveness. Therefore, fellow small business owners in Virginia are likely in need of the affordable, professional support that Cybertary provides.

So what is Cybertary?

Cybertary is a professional Virtual Assistance company new to Chantilly and the surrounding Northern Virginia area. A Virtual Assistant (VA) provides administrative support and specialized services to businesses, entrepreneurs, executives, and other busy individuals. A highly skill professional working as an independent contractor, a VA uses today’s technology to skillfully complete work assignments via the internet and email.

Patrick and his wife Kristen decide to buy a Cybertary franchise because after 20 years of living in the fast paced corporate world it was time for them to make a dramatic lifestyle change. Both Patrick and Kristen have been very successful professionally; however, they felt that their lives have been too dictated by the schedule demands and job uncertainty present in corporate careers. In spring 2009 Patrick, like many others, was laid-off. While also conducting a traditional job search, he convinced Kristen to consider the possibility of owning a business, something Patrick had long desired. Having two young sons and many outside interests compelled them to consider entering the world of Virtual Assisting. As Cybertary franchise owners, Patrick and Kristen can build on their extensive professional experience without sacrificing the other important aspects of their lives. They are excited by the new opportunity and look forward to the challenges it will bring.

Patrick’s business experience has been primarily in telecommunications, business consulting, and program management. He began his professional career as a financial services representative committed to helping clients develop and realize their financial goals. Throughout his career, Patrick has succeeded in providing creative solutions to business problems. While at Sprint Nextel he developed and implemented Project Costing methods for the Engineering and Operations Organization at Nextel, including the capture of $4B in equipment that was not being attributed to the strategic initiatives it was deployed to support. As a consultant, Patrick worked with such companies as leading Market Research firm, Wirthlin Worldwide, American Management Systems (AMS), and a telecom consulting firm, LCC International. His experience gives him the unique ability to bridge financial, business and technical perspectives to maximize results.

Kristen has over 20 years experience meeting the needs of both non-profit and for-profit organizations. Her expertise stretches from grant writing and administration to the financial management of projects over $50M. Her career achievements have ranged from running programs for American scholars conducting research in the Former Soviet Republics, including a period of time living in Russia, to managing financial teams supporting client projects while at Accenture. The result of her experience is that Kristen is flexible and culturally sensitive while at the same time pragmatic and detail-oriented. She loves meeting new people and figuring out how to solve their problems.

The Cybertary Trend and the Virtual Assistant Industry

Cybertary, Inc. was founded in 2005 by Patricia Beckman in Roseville, California to meet the growing demand for reliable and professional business support. Cybertary is the first and only virtual assisting franchise opportunity in the U.S.

Most small business owners mistakenly believe they ‘can’ and ‘should’ do it all themselves to save money, when in fact, outsourcing some tasks could help them increase profits. Business owners often spend 4-10 hours per week completing administrative tasks that do not generate revenues. That time could be better spent on revenue producing activities. Outsourcing the administrative tasks could actually save them money when the business owner’s own ‘hourly wage’ is taken into consideration. There is an answer, and it’s ‘virtually’ in front of their eyes; they just need to reach out and call for help.
