Wood, Atter & Wolf, P.A. Names Helen Atter Managing Partner of New Ponte Vedra Beach Office

The North Florida law firm of Wood, Atter & Wolf, P.A. is pleased to announce the addition of a new partner, Helen Atter, to the legal team. Ms. Atter will be based in the firm’s Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida office, and will focus on business law, estate planning, tax, sports and entertainment law, employment law, intellectual property, and non-profit organization law.

Atter. Ms. Atter will be based in the Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida office of Wood, Atter & Wolf. She will focus her practice in the areas of business and corporate law, sports and entertainment law, employment law, intellectual property, estate planning, tax, and non-profit organization law.

Ms. Atter joins Wood, Atter & Wolf, P.A. after 22 years with the the PGA TOUR, where she most recently served as Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs and General Counsel of the World Golf Foundation. While at the PGA TOUR, she was responsible for trademark and intellectual property protection, documentation of television contracts (including those for The Golf Channel) and TPC acquisitions, employment law, employee relations, and labor union matters. As Vice President of Human Resources for the PGA TOUR and the TPC Network, employment and ERISA matters fell under her areas of responsibility. As Vice President of Corporate Compliance, she was responsible for reviewing and coordinating the PGA TOUR'S multifaceted activities to ensure that they were in compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations.
   
In March 1997, while still employed by the PGA TOUR, Ms. Atter assumed the role of Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs for the World Golf Foundation. She ran all legal and business affairs, including their business systems and human resource matters. She was responsible for licensing, TV and special events, insurance, risk management, contract negotiations, intellectual property protection, IMAX negotiations, and Hall of Fame exhibitry negotiations and protections. In addition, she worked closely with a variety of state and local governments, including maintenance, reporting and compliance with bond issue requirements.
