Swift & McDonald Moves to New Office Suite in Seattle

Criminal defense firm relocates to larger space one year after founding in order to accommodate growth

Seattle (Lexis Nexis/PRWEB ) January 12, 2010 -- The Seattle-based law firm of Swift & McDonald, which specializes in the criminal defense of professional individuals, has relocated to larger office space in downtown Seattle.

The firm moved into a spacious new office suite at 1809 Seventh Avenue, Suite 1108. The office phone number remains 206.441.3377.

Swift & McDonald was formed in 2008 by Charlie Swift and Catherine McDonald, two seasoned criminal defense attorneys with a combination of more than 25 years of trial experience representing individuals accused of crimes. Since its founding, the firm has experienced steady growth and has expanded its office staff.

"Our new office space is roughly triple the size of our original suite, a move we needed to make in order to accommodate the growth we have experienced in the past year," said McDonald. "We are in the process of hiring another attorney and are exploring the possibility of hiring one or more legal interns in the near future. This additional professional staffing will enable us to continue providing the level of support required by our growing client base."

Swift and McDonald were law school classmates, both graduating from Seattle University in 1994. In 2008, Swift relocated to Seattle and the two of them resigned each of their prior positions in order to launch their criminal defense law partnership.

Swift is a nationally renowned attorney whose work on various high-profile military justice cases resulted in his selection as one of the "100 Most Influential Lawyers" in 2006 by the National Law Journal and one of "America's One Hundred Best and Brightest" in 2004 by Esquire Magazine. McDonald worked for 13 years as a public defender in Seattle. She was a felony attorney for five straight years, providing representation and counsel to more than 500 clients.

The firm is currently litigating a criminal defense case in New York with national security implications. The case, U.S. v. Aafia Siddiqui (Case No. 08 CR 826 (RMB)), involves a Pakistani national who has been charged with the attempted murder of two U.S. servicemen in Afghanistan.
