Major deployment of speech recognition at Hugh James. The solution enables users to complete tasks that previously took a day and half within a couple of hours. Once this latest phase is deployed the solution will be made available to additional users across the entire firm.
London, UK (PRWEB) January 21, 2010 -- SRC, the UK’s leading provider of digital dictation and speech recognition solutions, today announced they are extending the deployment of speech recognition at Top 100 law firm Hugh James. The solution, which uses Nuance’s Dragon NaturallySpeaking technology, demonstrated major time savings during a pilot phase and will now be deployed across sections of the Personal Injury and Employment departments, and to all Trainee Solicitors which comprises nearly 40 users.
Jon Howells, IT Director at Hugh James said: “The new solution has universally saved time for every user and provided extra efficiencies, especially for staff spending valuable time form filling and using email. In some cases users are able to complete tasks that previously took a day and half within a couple of hours. The added benefit is that users are able to concentrate more time on commercial tasks.”
To provide further time savings SRC have set up the solution so that users can dictate directly into Visual files, the firms case management system and the firm’s IRIS Laserform application.
As well as deploying and supporting the solution, SRC have also provided unique training for each user. Jon Howells said: “The background work and training SRC provided has been invaluable and really made the difference between the success and failure of the project. In as little as a 2 hour training session all scepticism had been alleviated and users were maximising productivity and achieving near perfect accuracy levels, even for Welsh place names and words that we’d expected to be problematic.”
Chris Hart, CEO at SRC said: “We are delighted to be delivering this major rollout of speech recognition to Hugh James. In today's challenging economic climate it is vital for firms to provide fee earners with tools which enable them to work most effectively and efficiently. Businesses trust our approach, which has developed over more than a decade of deploying speech recognition projects, and our ability to deliver successful results. Speech recognition has really come of age and SRC are pleased to be at the vanguard of delivering integrated solutions that help firms such as Hugh James boost efficiencies.”
Once this phase of the roll out has been completed, in response to numerous requests from lawyers in other departments, the solution will be made available to additional users across the entire firm.
