Drunk Driving Accident Attorney Nick Feizy Reveals Its Deadly Consequences

Dallas personal injury lawyer Nick Feizy discloses how drunk driving crashes affect the general public and the fatal dangers created on our streets and highways a result.

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) January 21, 2010 -- According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), 11,773 people died in alcohol related accidents in 2008 where the blood alcohol content (BAC) was 0.08 or higher. This is 32% of total traffic fatalities for that year! Out of this number, 57% or 7,378 people had a BAC of 0.15 or more (See DOT HS 811 155).

NHTSA shows that in 2008 drivers between 21 and 24 years of age had the highest percentage of people involved in fatal crashes whom had a BAC of 0.08 or higher. It is interesting to note that drivers were four times more alcohol impaired at night than during the day. Also, motorcycle drivers that were involved in fatal motorcycle accidents had higher percentage of persons with BAC of 0.08 or higher than car drivers that were involved in fatal accidents. Furthermore, it is stated that drivers with 0.08 BAC or greater that were involved in fatal crashes were eight times more likely to have past criminal convictions for some type of impaired driving as compared to drivers that had no alcohol (See DOT HS 811 155).

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), 11,773 people died in alcohol related accidents in 2008 where the blood alcohol content (BAC) was 0.08 or higher.
In Texas the legal limit for driving while intoxicated is 0.08. This means that if a driver has a 0.08 or higher BAC then he or she is generally considered to be driving while intoxicated or driving under the influence. As evidence by the above statistics this is very dangerous and could result in a fatal car accident.
