Project managers prove their value daily by delivering competitive projects or services on time, a significant skill in the current workforce. Training for project management certification gives individuals the skills and confidence to bring new products and services to the marketplace, while making them a more valued contributor to their organization.

SDSU's Professional Certificates in Project Management apply to individuals who are: current project managers desiring to update their skills, managing projects and want more systematic training, beginning new careers as project managers, preparing to take the Project Management Institute PMP® exam, or part of project teams that would benefit from utilizing the latest project management tools.

The spring semester project management certificate in-class programs begin January 5. Online project management programs are ongoing.

The course content is aligned with the project management knowledge areas outlined in the PMBOK® Guide, Third Edition published by the Project Management Institute (PMI®). It fulfills PMI®'s educational requirement for all people applying for PMP® certification.

"The Professional Certificate in Project Management at SDSU's College of Extended Studies helped prepare me to take the PMP exam. The one-night-a-week class format fit my busy schedule, and the instructors were first rate. I would recommend this program to anyone interested in becoming a project manager, and also to existing project managers to enhance their skills," said Marc Daniels, project manager, i-Net Profits, LLC.
