Local attorney and Saugus native invites community members to "Meet the Candidate" event at Fox Hill Yacht Club on October 15th
New York, NY (Lexis Nexis/PRWEB ) October 6, 2009 -- Scott Crabtree, a respected local attorney and a native of Saugus, Mass., today announced his candidacy for the Saugus Board of Selectmen.
"I was born in Saugus, raised and educated here, opened a law practice in Cliftondale Square in Saugus, and now live here with my wife and children," said Crabtree. "I love this town, in both the good times and the rough times like we're experiencing now, so I want to bring a fresh face and new ideas for the future of Saugus. My goal is to restore public trust and confidence in Saugus government and its officials, as well as to demand accountability and transparency with all Town business."
Crabtree is the founding partner of Law Offices of Scott Crabtree, a Saugus-based law firm that serves clients with real estate, taxation, estate planning and general civil law needs. The firm practices primarily in Greater Boston, Middlesex and Essex counties.
Crabtree was born in Saugus and raised in the community. He is a graduate of Saugus High School (class of 1988), Boston University (B.S., Accounting) and the New England School of Law (J.D.). Crabtree served the public as a Saugus Police Officer for more than 10 years and as an executive board member for the Saugus Police Patrolman's Union. As an executive, he settled labor disputes and arbitrations, as well as negotiated contract settlements with the Town Manager's Office. After completing law school, he clerked for a Superior Court Judge, worked as an accountant for a Boston CPA firm, and then launched his own law practice in 2006 on Lincoln Avenue in Saugus.
According to Crabtree, his candidacy will be based on three priorities:
(1) Working together in developing a financial plan for Saugus with a strategy for improving education, youth programs, senior citizen services, and public safety;
(2) Working to help secure the resources needed to provide a quality education for our children and grandchildren. Investing in our education system ensures the viability of Saugus and protects our property values for retirement; and
(3) Opening communications between the Town Manager's Office, Finance Committee, Town Meeting, School Committee, Board of Selectmen and the Public.
"I will lead with honesty, integrity, intelligence and common sense," said Crabtree.
Crabtree is inviting Saugus residents to a "Meet the Candidate" event on Thursday, October 15th, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event will be held at the Fox Hill Yacht Club at 114 Ballard Street in Saugus, and will feature an opportunity to ask any questions of the candidate in person.
