Ruby Sponsors ABA's GPSolo Division, Expands Support to Lawyers

Ruby Receptionists has taken another step forward in furthering its support of the 'Main Street Lawyer': the Portland, Ore.‐based company has become an official sponsor of the General Practice, Solo and Small Firm Division of the American Bar Association. Ruby is also going to participate in the upcoming GPSolo Fall Conference.

Portland, OR (PRWEB) October 12, 2009 -- After more than six years of supporting small law firms and solo practitioners with top‐notch virtual
receptionist service, Ruby has taken another step forward in furthering its support of the 'Main Street Lawyer': the Portland, Ore.‐based company has become an official sponsor of the General Practice, Solo and Small Firm Division of the American Bar Association.

"Our services have long been an excellent fit for small law firms and lawyers in private practice," said Ruby President Jill Nelson, "So it only makes sense that we would also actively participate in the organization that truly supports them." As part of the new sponsorship, Ruby will be an exhibitor at GPSolo's upcoming conference in Los Angeles Oct. 16 and 17, sharing information and tips on how Ruby's unparalleled remote receptionist service can greatly improve on the efficiency and professionalism of small law firms and solo legal practices.

"As an attorney, my experience with Ruby's professional and discrete handling of my client calls has been very positive," said one lawyer and Ruby client, Deb Matthews. "Frequently, callers ask if I've hired a new staff person because of Ruby's personalized service. As a small business owner it is important to be responsive to the needs of my clients," she added, "including phone calls when we're unable to answer personally."

Ruby is eager to become a larger presence with general practice and solo lawyer practitioners. Lawyers comprise more than a third of Ruby's client base, making it important for Ruby to reach out to the legal community while expanding on how the company can best serve law practices.

"We are thrilled to continue building relationships with lawyers who could benefit from our services," Nelson said. "So far, it's been an entirely positive experience. We're able to give lawyers exactly what they need--time away from the phone that doesn't mean missed opportunities."

The ABA General Practice, Solo and Small Firm Division is the only ABA entity exclusively devoted to solo practitioners and small firm lawyers. The division, with approximately 25,000 members, serves as the voice of the "Main Street lawyer." Solo and small firm practitioners represent half of the nation's lawyers, and the GPSolo Division provides a community for them within the ABA.

With more than 400,000 members, the American Bar Association is the largest voluntary professional membership organization in the world. As the national voice of the legal profession, the ABA works to improve the administration of justice, promotes programs that assist lawyers and judges in their work, accredits law schools, provides continuing legal education, and works to build public understanding around the world of the importance of the rule of law.
