MSGPR Ltd Co Launches PoliceDVD.com to assist law enforcement organizations in keeping their officers safe.
(Vocus/PRWEB ) October 14, 2009 -- PoliceDVD.com now offers Interactive on-line education and training for law enforcement officers. “Use of Force” and “10 Deadly Errors” are two of the titles now available on-line with a wide variety of support and reference material. Others to follow will include "Search & Seizure: Warrantless Searches and Probable Cause”.
There are no actors in these full action video segments. All participants are trained officers, demonstrating the skills they know to be reliable and effective. These are skills which continue to work both on and off duty. Skills to make a difference.
The titles in the new on-line offering are part of the internationally known Tactics, Detention and Evidence (TDE) Series, introduced one month after 9-11 in 2001. To date, the series has only been available in a DVD format, complete with pre-test, post-test and instructor guides and resource materials.
Now, MSGPR Ltd Co, in cooperation with Video I-D Teleproductions, has added the series to the MSG Training System and is offering access to police and law enforcement throughout the nation.
“The convenience and acceptance of online based training makes it essential that this highly developed series be offered on the Internet”, states Lee Miller, CEO for MSGPR. “This is the type of education and training that is basic to law enforcement. The material is designed to save lives, protect civilians and police officers alike and ensure the basics re reinforced.”
The concept of “10 Deadly Errors” is based on FBI research and statistical data on the primary causes of uniformed officer fatalities. Their findings indicate that nearly 80% of the officers killed in the line of duty are the victims of one or more of these ten errors.
While “10 Deadly Errors” is standard training, this module provides the most extensive interactive course yet designed covering vital officer safety basics. The enhanced instruction and convenient reference materials combine to make these concepts memorable. Officer safety is paramount to law and order.
This series (TDE) provides a focus on the basics. The modules reinforce the single most important aspect of law enforcement…that every officer deserves to return home safely. Each officer needs to leave the shift in the same condition as when it was began during roll call. “10 Deadly Errors” is a constant reminder to employ the skills and good habits that proper training develops and time in service reinforces.
“Use of Force” is designed to clearly demonstrate that enough force is essential to keep the officer safe and to protect the individual being arrested. This module also reminds officers that the appropriate and effective use of force is a privilege and responsibility.
The comprehensive module clearly demonstrates skills for efficiently using sufficient force to maintain control. The module also provides information to help protect officers and their departments from frivolous complaints and litigation. Support material with the module also reviews report preparation and delivers basics necessary for officers preparing to give sworn testimony.
According to Miller, “Our mission is officer safety. Our purpose in this project is to instill an attitude in all officers to maximize their chances of survival. Our goal is that each officer goes home at the end of the shift.”
A third module, Search and Seizure is currently in production and expected to be released at the beginning of 2010. The module covers Warrantless Searches and Probable Cause. A bookend module, Search Warrants, is also planned.
“Additional modules will be added as needed,” says Miller. “One aspect of this effort is to provide a resource that allows police officers at all levels to tell us what types of instruction they would like to see and what topics they would like covered.”
