Snow-Shoe spamming is the fastest growing type of spam, representing up to 50% of overall volume. It is particularly insidious as it appears to come from seemingly legitimate, uncompromised IP addresses. The Snow-Shoe name originates from techniques invented by Spammers to “spread their weight” in order to avoid triggering automated filters. Using these techniques, they use many small IP ranges on many Internet Service Providers (ISPs), which in turn use many different domains that rapidly change IP addresses.
