Greenberg Traurig's Bankruptcy Group Relocates to Gallagher & Kennedy

Gallagher & Kennedy, P.A., a full service business law firm based in Phoenix, announced today that five new attorneys will be joining the firm today: John Clemency, shareholder; Todd Burgess, shareholder; Julie Rystad, shareholder; Craig Ganz, of counsel; and Janel Glynn, associate. Prior to joining Gallagher & Kennedy, these attorneys were all members of national law firm Greenberg Traurig's bankruptcy practice and based out of its Phoenix office.

John Clemency's practice includes: Chapter 11 bankruptcies for lenders, borrowers, committees, trustees, lessors, and asset purchases, commercial litigation, and out-of-court workouts. He is certified as a commercial bankruptcy specialist by the Arizona State Bar Board of Legal Specialization. Clemency earned his Juris Doctor from the New England School of Law, summa cum laude, in 1984.

Todd Burgess has appeared nationwide in corporate bankruptcy matters, workouts, and litigation matters representing troubled companies, trustees, financial institutions, receivers, private equity funds, suppliers, franchisees, lenders, and creditors of all types. His areas of concentration have included: mortgage and asset based lending, real estate, Uniform Commercial Code, Article 9, hospitality, retail, and airlines. Burgess earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Arizona's James E. Rogers College of Law, cum laude, in 1998.

Julie Rystad's practice focuses on representation of financial institutions in consumer credit regulation and privacy compliance, and on representing both lenders and borrowers in commercial financing transactions. Her areas of concentration have included: federal and state regulation of commercial services, residential mortgage lending and servicing, privacy and information safeguarding, stored value, money transmitter, and debt card regulation, and commercial and asset-based lending, secured transactions. Rystad earned her Juris Doctor from the Arizona State University Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law in 1999.

Craig Ganz's practice focuses on the representation of corporate creditors and debtors-in-possession. His areas of concentration include: real estate, construction defect, and commercial litigation. His bankruptcy and reorganization experiences includes structuring, negotiating, and ultimately confirming plans of reorganization and disclosure statements. Ganz earned his Juris Doctor from the Southwestern University School of Law in 2001.

Janel Glynn's practice is concentrated primarily in the areas of business reorganization and bankruptcy. Glynn earned her Juris Doctor from the Loyola University New Orleans School of Law in 2007 and her LL.M. from St. John's University School of Law (thesis pending) in 2008.
